Deep River Friends Meeting is pleased to announce the launch of our newly-redesigned website, deepriverfriends.com. This website refresh aimed to better meet the needs of our members, attenders and visitors.
This weekend, Oct. 9-11, Scott will be in Iowa as the speaker/leader for the Iowa Yearly Meeting Pastor’s Retreat. He will be back Tuesday evening, Oct. 11. Next Sunday, Sara Beth Terrell will bring the prepared message during Meeting for Worship.
Feeding Lisa’s Kids is a grassroots movement started by Lisa Hawley, owner of Southern Roots. Open Door Shelter will be this coming Saturday, Oct. 1. Deep River Friends Meeting will be serving lunch. Julie Vaughan is coordinating the meal. Volunteers to help serve are always welcome.

The Deep River Fall BBQ is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. Tickets are now available for sale. Please see Keith Dillon if you are able to sell tickets.
The 33rd Annual High Point CROP Walk will be Sunday, Sept. 25. Registration begins at 3 p.m. and the walk will begin at 4 p.m. Refreshments will be immediately following the walk. The walk will begin and end at First Baptist Church in High Point (405 North Main Street). A Fall Yard Sale at Deep River Friends Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 beginning at 7 a.m. Please see Susie Jones for more information, or if you would like to participate.
Saturday, Sept. 17 is Chicken Pie Day. Everyone is invited to come out that day to help prepare chicken pies beginning at 8 a.m. This is one of the major fundraisers for Deep River Quaker Women. Also, on Thursday evening, Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. and then again at 7 p.m. there will be preparations for Chicken Pie Day.
Next Sunday, Scott and Lynda will be away visiting Erin and Avery in California. Our 11 a.m. meeting for worship time will be given over to an extended time of open worship and communion after the manner of Friends. Come experience the real Presence of the Living Christ.
